One German kitchen, four ways to buy it
The same cabinets, the same doors, the same 10-year OXIA guarantee on the furniture. What changes is how much of the work we do: you fit it, we fit it together, we fit it, or we handle the building work around it as well. Each option has an example kitchen whose specification is written out below.
OXIA sells German-made kitchens in four forms, all inclusive of French VAT and excluding appliances: Prêt-à-poser — supply only, you fit it; Assistance de pose — you carry, unpack and clear away, our fitter does the technical work; Sur-mesure posé — designed, delivered and fitted by our own team; Clé en main — the kitchen plus the electrics, plumbing, plastering and decorating under one contract. Every carcase is delivered fully assembled, not flat-packed. Your own price is worked out on the plan, after the first appointment, and set out item by item on the quotation.
Prêt-à-poser
This is not flat-pack. Every cabinet leaves the factory built — panels dowelled and glued, back panel screwed on, doors and drawers already hung. You put it up, you connect it, and you keep the cost of fitting.

Assistance de pose
You carry the units in, unpack them, offer them up in the room, take the packaging away and clean up afterwards — long jobs you already know how to do. Our fitter comes only for the technical work: levelling, fixing, cutting, the worktop, the connections. You pay for the fitter’s working time and nothing else, and because the fixing is done by us, the units we fix are charged at 10 % VAT.

- You take the packaging away and clean up afterwards
- The declaration for the 10 % rate on the units we fix, signed with the quotation
Who it suits. People who are happy doing the handling but want a professional on the cut-outs and the connections, owners with time rather than tools, and anyone keeping the budget tight who wants the 10 % VAT rate.

- An OXIA fitter for the technical work: levelling, fixing the cabinets, cut-outs, fitting the worktop, installing the appliances, connecting water and electricity to existing services, adjusting the doors
- A visit arranged with you, once the units are unpacked and offered up in the room
- VAT at 10 % on the units we fix and on the assistance itself, if your home was completed more than two years ago
- 10-year OXIA guarantee on the furniture, backed by our manufacturer’s ten-year commitment to us, and a two-year OXIA fitting guarantee on the work our fitter does

Who it suits. Most of our clients: replacing an existing kitchen, opening the kitchen onto the living room, adding an island — projects where you want to choose without getting it wrong.

Frequently asked questions
Is “Prêt-à-poser” the same as flat-pack?
No. Our manufacturer delivers every carcase assembled in the factory: panels dowelled and glued, back panel screwed on, doors and drawers already fitted. All that is left is to level the units, fix them and connect them. That is what separates it from a kitchen you build from a box.
Can I buy the units from you and have a local builder fit them?
Yes, and many people do — the Prêt-à-poser option is designed for it. We supply the dimensioned fitting plan and the list of services required, and your builder works from that. The 10-year OXIA guarantee on the furniture, backed by our manufacturer’s ten-year commitment to us, stands as long as the instructions are followed; labour to put right a fitting that was not done properly is not covered.
Are appliances included?
No. Appliances are always quoted on their own line, so that you can compare like with like and decide last, once the plan is settled. We do supply them, at our buying group’s negotiated rate, in three packs with an extended guarantee and a single delivery with the kitchen. We show Novy, Asko, AEG and Liebherr at our showroom, and also work with Bosch, Siemens, Neff, Bora and Miele.
What happens if I fit it myself and get stuck?
You ring the showroom. We answer by telephone or on video, and if you need it, a fitter comes out and finishes at an hourly rate. That rate is written into your quotation before you order, not invented afterwards.
What exactly do I do in the Assistance de pose option?
The long jobs, and none of the technical ones. You carry the units in, unpack them and offer them up in the room, then take the packaging away and clean up at the end. Our fitter comes for what needs the tools and the hand: levelling, fixing the cabinets, cut-outs, the worktop, installing the appliances and connecting to existing water and electrical services. The split is written into the quotation, line by line, so neither of us is guessing on the day.
Does the 10 % VAT rate apply if we fit it together?
Yes. In a home completed more than two years ago, the reduced rate follows the company that supplies and fixes the units — and in the Assistance de pose option the fixing is done by our fitter, so the units we fix and the assistance itself are at 10 %. Appliances stay at 20 % in every case, and a supply-only kitchen is at 20 % because there is no fitting. You sign a short dated declaration with the quotation. This is a description of the standard French rule, not tax advice on your particular situation.
